Forged knives by Igor Kampman, an autodidact polymath artist with a passion for 'brutdeforge' style knives.
I am a part time knife smith and started forging knives in 2010 after being inspired by a documentary of Ron Hoods (Woodmaster) with Tai Goo and Tim Lively about neo tribal knife making.
Grateful to Dave van Wijngaarden who is an excellent mentor and pushed me to learn more and get better in forging knives.
Besides knife making i am a tattooist with my own studio and together with my best friend we have a small bushcraft school where we teach adults and children how to make their lives comfortable in the wild.
With many years of experience as a outdoor instructor and being out there since a child with my father and grandfather (this side of my family who were gamekeepers), i have created my own way of making knives that are good for bushcraft, hunting, survival and kitchen use.
It takes at least 3 days to make a unique and one of a kind knife.
I am inspired by old crafts, nature, tribalism and tales from the past.
Kampman knives are rustique workers with character, made from new and reclaimed materials in the lowlands of the Netherlands.
